Our pilot employees demonstrate impactful commitment

We take social responsibility seriously

At pilot, we have been actively committed to corporate social responsibility since 2013 – across all our locations. Our engagement is multifaceted and encompasses five pillars: learning, helping, giving, preserving, and contributing.

We support children through the pilot media club, lend a helping hand during the pilot social day, make a contribution through donations, are committed to climate protection, and offer a platform for individual volunteering with “purpozed.” In this way, we create sustainable participation activities and play a part in bringing joy to many people.

Social Day Berlin 2023

For over 10 years, pilot employees have been volunteering at the pilot media club as media trainers, guiding elementary school children through the jungle of communication in a playful way. The objective is to learn how to use the internet safely and how to deal with advertising. Important topics such as data protection and online consumption are also addressed. The highlight of each year is a visit to our Hamburg or Berlin office, where the children experience agency life and develop their own out-of-home advertising concept.

Whether in Hamburg, Berlin, or Nuremberg, once a year, the pilot employees demonstrate their social commitment on the pilot social day. In their free time, they support local non-profit initiatives with hands-on work. For many, this collaborative effort has become a tradition. For example, pilot employees built a pond in the school garden of the Grund- und Stadtteilschule Alter Teichweg in Hamburg, assisted in renovating a residential complex for the Elisabethenstift youth support service in Berlin, and met with refugees from Ukraine in Nuremberg.

To provide targeted support for initiatives and partner schools of the Kinderjahre Foundation, pilot regularly makes donations. As part of our CSR activities, we donate computer equipment for media education at Hamburg schools. Most recently, students at the Gyula Trebitsch School in Tonndorf received new computers and hard drives.

Since 2019, the pilot group has received Impact Label certification from the independent myclimate foundation every year. By financing selected climate protection projects, pilot takes responsibility for its own carbon footprint. Based on CO2 assessment results, we also identify key levers for reducing carbon emissions and implement relevant internal measures across all locations.

In addition to our project-based commitments, we have expanded our CSR activities with the corporate volunteering tool “purpozed.” This tool enables all pilot employees to engage in social projects of their choice. “purpozed” connects non-profit organizations with motivated volunteers, making it easy to find volunteer work that matches personal skills and sustainability goals. This collaboration emphasizes the individuality of our pilot employees, as we want to give everyone the opportunity to find the right type of social commitment.
